At a time of ongoing genocides, escalating violence, compounding crises, deepening repression, widespread defunding, and the global rise of fascism and authoritarian movements, the Raise the Bar tool calls on philanthropy to meet the moment with moral clarity, courage, and accountability. Grounded in the leadership and demands of communities on the frontlines of social justice movements, Raise the Bar challenges funders to move beyond harmful practices and embrace liberatory approaches that resource communities, dismantle systemic injustice, and help build life-affirming futures for all. In the rercoding of the Community Launch Event, you'll learn about the tool, hear stories from organizers and advancing transformative funding practices, and explore how we can collectively transform philanthropy to align its resources with solidarity, accountability, and justice.

Co-organized by Funders4Palestine, Funding Freedom, and Rawa in partnership with co-sponsors: Better Preparedness Initiative, EDGE Funders Alliance, Guerrilla Foundation, Global Greengrants Fund, Human Rights Funders Network (HRFN), In Our Name Fund, Justice Funders, MADRE, Neighborhood Funders Group, Nonprofit Quarterly (NPQ), North Star Fund, Próspera Social, Purposeful, RISE Together Fund- Proteus Fund, Solidaire Network, and Women Donors Network.

Any questions that we’re navigating around Palestine we’re seeing come up in our work supporting Black and Indigenous and feminist movements around the world. We see similar logics at work, and the standards that we are setting and normalizing around Palestine are impacting these communities and movements.

Are we doing our most and our best?

Raise the Bar offers a roadmap for moving the needle wherever your starting point is. If even half of us on the call today could do one thing to move our organizations one step forward, imagine what philanthropy could look like.
